Manfredi Cold Storage has a rail siding that can currently service up to four rail cars. With our new 110,000 square foot addition we are expanding the siding to accommodate an additional six rail cars, up to and including the large F Plate cars, bringing the total rail siding capability to 10 cars. This additional investment in capacity is based on Manfredi's belief that rail service needs for coast to coast service for high density products, potatoes, onions, apples, pears and citrus in particular will continue to rise in the future.

 

Also, our rail provider, East Penn Railroad, is in a unique position to offer very competitive pricing since it has switch capabilities with two Class 1 carriers, CSX and Norfolk Southern.

 

We feel that with our location in the Mid Atlantic region, connection and service from East Penn Railroad will only pay dividends for Manfredi
in the future.

 

East Penn Railroad (ESPN) provides frequent and reliable switching services, and works closely with Manfredi and their customers to maximize the potential of rail shipments. ESPN has direct interchanges with both Norfolk Southern Railway (NS) and CSX Transportation, which enables highly competitive service offerings between Manfredi Cold Storage and all rail served shippers and receivers throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico.
